The Rotary Club of Bombay West organized a cultural meet on Tuesday, 29 September, 2009 for interact members of various schools. It gives a wonderful opportunity to the interact clubs of various schools to come together and discuss the work they do and display their talent.
The interact members of our school performed a traditional Indian Dance. They performed gujarati folk dance and it was highly appreciated by the dignatories present at the Rotary Club.
It was a great exchange programme where the children got to know various activities that different schools undertake. The Rotarians appreciated the enthusiasm and the interest that the youngsters were taking in the field of social service. They were happy to see that the youngsters were not only aware of the problems of the less fortunate in the society but also took up the responsibility to work for the betterment of the society. |

This year also on Thursday, 01 October, 2009 – the World Elder’s Day was celebrated on a grand scale. Senior citizens from various Homes for the aged were invited to the Rotary Centre. The Rotary President spoke about the importance of grandparents in our lives. Their knowledge, wisdom and advise can greatly enrich our lives. They have spent their lifetime for us. We must recognizes their selfless love for us and the sacrifices they have made for our welfare. We should show respect for their feeling, consult them on family issues and make them feel wanted. Our interact members volunteered at the function and presented plants to the senior citizens. They carried an important message back – “Let us do unto our parents what we will like to be done to us by our children.” |

It is rightly said, we make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give. It is this feeling that helped the world reach its position today. The reward being the icing on the cake – Pure Joy of Satisfaction in the fact that we had made a significant difference to someone’s life is a feeling like no other. It is this feeling that one would like to spread through the JOY OF GIVING WEEK AT PODAR from the 27 September to the 02 October, 2009.
During this week, each child got an opportunity to go beyond the normality of social service and experience the happiness that they would get through sharing with and caring for others and the environment around them. A host of initiatives by the students that took place during this week will not only inculcate values but also make them responsible towards the world. |
