WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

Workshop on Improving Creative Writing Skills was conducted by Ms. K. Mala Palani on Wednesday, 23 December, 2009 in the school Basement for the primary and middle school English Teachers. It highlighted how to enhance the imaginative capabilities of students and consisted of various ways of asking thought provoking questions and ways to improve the English vocabulary in children.

Same day, our principal, Mrs. Norina Fernandes took a workshop with the other teachers on how to be creative in your approach to teaching. A brief break-out session too was taken by our art teachers on making Tea Bag Cards.
The venue for this workshop was ‘Gulita’ at Worli.

Mr. Piyush Mehta and Ms. Ragini Malhotra attended a one day workshop in “Training in Green Chemistry” and its relevance in Education Curricular on Tuesday, 08 December, 2009 at the R. D. National Campus, Bandra.

Our School librarians, Ms. Sadhana Deshpande and Ms. Sunita Mishra attended a two day workshop of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and cultural Heritage) to involve schools in building a network of Heritage Clubs throughout the country on 10 and 11 December at Pragna Bodhini High School, Goregaon (East).

Tata TIE workshop on “Enabling/Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs in India” was held on Saturday, 12 December, 2009 at Trident Bandra Kurla. This was attended by our principal, Mrs. Norina Fernandes and our two students from Std. XII – Deepika Mani and Anuj Gupta.

A two-day ART EDUCATION CONFERENCE was organized on 11 – 12 December, 2009 with Goethe Institute, Max Mucller Bhavan and IFA (India Foundation for the Arts) in Bangalore.

This conference was perhaps the first of its kind in the country and involved a broad range of stakeholders in Arts Education in Schools in the deliberations, with enriched dialogue and discussions at the conference.
The sessions were compartmentalized into Contexts, Concepts and Practices with topics like the current legislative Scenario and Arts Education, the structures of Arts Education, Arts and Early childhood Education, Arts Education and I.

This first initiative by attended by our Art Teacher and Administrator Mrs. Kairavi Ahmed.
