Thematic Fancy Dress Competition:

The power of daring anything that catches their fancy, always has been conceded to the painter, poet and an actor.
Our little actors of class 1st and 2nd participated in the thematic fancy dress competition held on 4th. It was a treat to see them perform and present their views and ideas about the person / thing they were depicting.
It was challenging, informative, innovative and entertaining.

Reading Competition:

“Reading makes immigrants of us all. It takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere”
This quote was made true when students from all classes 1st and 5th participated in the reading competition held on 9th (English) and 17th (Hindi) respectively. The joy of reading was displayed by the children who enthralled their own class mates and transported them to land of Panchatantra stories, Akbar, Birbal anecdotes and many other classics.

Story Telling Competition:

As there is a natural storytelling urge and ability in all human beings, even just a little nurturing of this impulse can bring about astonishing and delightful results. Our learners for class one to five participated in the story telling competition held on 11th of February. The contestants captivated the audience by taking them down for a walk with Mani as in Malgudi days or though the write ups of Ruskin Bond and Rudyard Kipling.

Math-O-Fun:

“The essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.”
With this ground rule in mind a Math-O-Fun competition was conducted for class 1 to 5, where it was made clear to children how math can be fun and how math is all around us. It helped revive the interest levels of the children and did prove as a good example on how math can be inculcated in day to day activities.

IF  YOU  ARE  KIDNAPPED  TO  A  NEARBY  PLANETS

How would you feel, if you were suddenly taken captive by a bunch of cybergs? How would you feel, if you were kidnapped and taken to another planet? The answer would definitely be strange and scary, right? Well, I’m here to tell you my experience of something very similar to this.

I was peacefully reading a car magazine at home on a calm Saturday morning. The sky was blue, there was a soft breeze and the sun was in its cozy position in the sky. No one would ever guess that a gang of cybergs from the planet Zombestein would currently be speeding in an alien – Ship towards Earth. Well, they were, they landed right outside my house, with a bang and a boom. They barged into the house, scaring me out of my wits in the process. They even broke the serene peacefulness that was in the air, which was pretty annoying, as it was quite rare. Seeing no one in the house but me, they started to demand things. I was frankly – surprised that aliens knew English! Well, I stood my ground and they, with apparent ease, carried me away to their ship and to Zombestein.

I, not knowing anything about Zombestein, was curious to see what it was like there. I was also starting to panic a bit, because I knew that to be kidnapped in outerspace was abnormal, and to be rescued was next to impossible. Well anyway, Zombestein was quite a barren planet, with craters here and there. There was no vegetation. The cybergs gave me oxygen tanks, so I assumed that there was no oxygen on the planet either. They took me to a cell, in the far side of the planet. I was placed in a chair, and the gang of cybergs surrounded me. Their leader sat in a chair in front of me. He once again started to demand for his things, and threatened to not let me go if I didn’t give him what he wanted. It took me a while to understand what he was saying, as his English was terrible. But pretty soon, I realized that he wanted some pure red soil. I had seen some of it on the planet itself, while flying over the planet. I told them so, they stared at me, dumbstruck. It was pretty apparent to me that they had never explored the planets.

So in the end, the cybergs had dropped me home, and went back to their own planet for the soil. I was safe, and they were happy. I could finally go back to reading the magazine, now that the serene calmness had returned!
